I and a neighbor both went to Target on separate occasions yesterday and this is what happened.
She tried to use the $5 GC MQ from the 10/24 SS insert for 2 packages of 8 rolls and they coupon would not scan and was turned away. There was no manager to talk to, but she did talk to CS and they told her that if the coupon doesn't scan they are not obligated to take it.
My experience was a little different. I had three of the $5 GC MQ and tried to buy 3 packages of 12 rolls. Again the coupon did not scan. The cashier called over another more experienced cashier and she just keyed in an over ride and they gave me 3 - $5 GC's.
The price on the 12 roll package is $17.99 which works out to $1.50 a roll. The 8 roll package is $11.99 which also works out to $1.50 a roll. So you are better off going with the 12 roll package to get a $5 GC.
My store will not let me use a MQ and the GC MQ since they are both MQ's. If one had been a Target coupon there would be no problem using both.
The MQ must match the product. You can not use a MQ for 10 roll package for the 8 or 12 roll product. If your cashier takes it then more power to you, but that is technically coupon fraud on your part and the store's.
