2 Kohl's stores get EV charging via ut san diego

Kohl’s Department Stores this week announced that the company will pilot electric vehicle charging stations at 33 Kohl’s stores nationwide, including stores in Chula Vista and Santee.
No word as of now when the charging stations will begin operating; the Kohl's representatives listed on the press release didn't respond to questions emailed Friday about the schedule and cost. Customers will be able to activate the charging stations in various ways including radio frequency identification (RFID) cards available at the Kohl’s customer service desk and via phone numbers provided on the charging stations.
Each store will have two EV stations installed by ECOtality Inc:
  • Santee store: 9412 Mission Gorge Road
  • Chula Vista store: 1870 Main Court
The stations will be in place at least through the end of 2012. This is part of a large infrastructure pilot program funded in part by the U.S. Department of Energy through a federal stimulus grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. More information about The EV Project is available at [theevproject.com].
Kohl's said the stations are part of the chain's commitment to being a leading environmentally responsible retailer. Information on Kohl’s environmental efforts: [KohlsGreenScene.com]
