So I am what you would call I guess a moderate couponer, not extreme but definately plan my trips and take advantage of good deals. I am also a very ethical couponer and I personally take pride in that.So today I went to CVS with a list & my coupons. I got my 5 dawns, 4 dunkin donuts coffee, 5 vitamin waters, 2 pulse toothbrushes and also 2 Hydro 5 Razors with their BOGO deal. With the Razors I also has a $3 printable for each and I also had 2 coupons that was buy a hydro 5 razor get a hydro gel free (I got them from a previous razor purchase as they were attached to the pack).Now the cashier when she got to the buy a razor get a gel for free coupons started saying that I could not do that because I was already getting one of them free. I was VERY confused and then realised that she thought that the coupon was a BOGO for a razor. When I asked her to read the coupon as it says buy a razor get a shaving gel for free she got REALLY annoyed and told me that she HAD read the coupon and was SICK AND TIRED of people coming in and trying to STEAL things using coupons.
At this point the lady behind me looked up. I again tried to explain the coupon to the cashier and she just said let me call the manager out. So I thought good...someone to calm the situation. I was WRONG! The manager came out and litterly grumped "What is the problem now?" the cashier said "Another coupon person" rolling eyes!!! The manager did not even acknowledge me and as I tried to explain held her hand up to me in a stop motion and said Loudly "I am not talking to you right now hush" . At this point I was PRETTY mad. So I said "Excuse me, I am the customer and you will listen to what I have to say" .
She then turned around and said if I did not lower MY voice then she would deem that threatening behaviour and call the police!!!!
So I turned and looked at the lady behind me and thankfully she said to the manager that the only person she heard raise their voice was HER the manager and that I had been rather patient while dealing with rude staff. The manager again rolled her eyes and told me that if I raised my voice again she would call the police. I told her to do it, to pick up the phone and call them ! After a momentary standoff she huffed and sighed and said that the police have better things to do anyway and FINALLY asked ME what the issue was....once I explained the coupon...and she READ it, it was fine (as I knew it was) and was taken care of in 30 seconds!
